Berlin Showroom

January is always a busy month for our team. I feel mild relief knowing that at least some of my glutinous holiday consumption will be put to good use this month when Œ Magazine hustles its way from one fashion capitol to the next working behind the scenes to bring you the latest runway reports. Designer darling Julian Zigerli will inaugurate our fashion calendar with his highly anticipated AW 14/15 collection inside Armani Teatro, our Berlin favorites along with talented newcomers will unveil their collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, and lastly Œ’s Editor-in-Chief, Arne Eberle and team, will execute the first ever Berlin Showroom Menswear installment in Paris during Men’s Fashion Week. Exhausted or not, we’ll be there for all of it. If for some reason we go silent for some days, rest assured, we’re probably neck deep in some fashion affair and will (hopefully) come out of it with exciting stories and provocative new discoveries to report on. The Berlin fashion scene will certainly be put through its paces this month.

For the international buyers and press who have not yet placed our dear city on their fashion map during this hectic season, you’ll be pleased to know that some of our most promising designers will be coming to you in Paris. With its early success and growing support, Berlin Showroom and its expanding portfolio of talent (selected by a distinguished jury) now includes four installments for the 2014 calendar with two new menswear editions in tow. From January 17 – 19, the following eight menswear collections from Berlin designers will be showcased at Espace Modem in the heart of Paris:

Firma | Sadak | Schmidttakahashi | Simon & Me | Sissi Goetze | Sopopular | Starstyling | Velt | Versuchskind

To get a sneak peek of what’s to come, here’s the showroom’s latest menswear editorial shot by photographer Michael Mann.
