Introducing

GHONGJORD

On the set of a photo shoot awhile back, I discovered GHONGJORD, a brilliant accessories label designed by Japanese product/graphic designer Hiroko Oda living in Halle. As a strong believer in accessory investments, I am a bit embarrassed that the German label has escaped my notice this long.  Founded in 2011, GHONGJORD takes its title from the Buddhist concept that expounds the virtue of “pursuing the pure land from the heart”.  The designer has taken the term and transmitted it into a design and production process built on sustainable practices. Oda works with ten different artisans in Germany to flesh out her craft and the result of her labor and love is a line of understated, yet beautiful, backpacks, totes, clutches, and a selection of woven accessories made to last.

If you happen to be in the city for Fashion Week next month, be sure to stop by SEEK and SOTO where Oda will be presenting her collection in full!
