Sunglasses are a perennial necessity. On those rare winter days where the city’s grey clouds open up to let in the streams of sunlight, I proudly don my sunglasses in defiance to our climatic shortcomings. Coming from the Golden State of California has trained me to take my shades with me wherever I go all year and this winter I challenge Œ readers to do the same.
This week, Œ Magazine is teaming up with Mykita to give one lucky Œ lœver these gorgeous unisex pair of Mykita sunglasses (model: Thorvald) for those hopeful winter days when the clouds disintegrate and the light reflecting from the snow paved sidewalks remind you that it’s summer somewhere in the world.
With stores in Berlin, Tokyo, New York City, Paris and Monterrey (and not to forget Cartagena, Zurich, Zermatt, Vienna, Mexico City) Mykita is poised to take over the globe with its technologically innovative eyewear hand assembled in Germany. Mykita’s frames explore material possibilities that optimize utility and design. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has picked up a handful of notable design awards and collaborated with internationally established labels such as Bernhard Willhelm, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Moncler and Damir Doma to produce limited edition lines.
