Yarakh is one out of six editorials we produced for Mode Senegal, a print project by Goethe-Institut Senegal to empower the local fashion scene in Dakar.
More than just a photoshoot, this day was a moment of exchange, a process of mutual discovery. It’s here that our models, Khady and El Hadj, live, and the goodwill of the locals, who discovered them as our models for the day, was truly touching. A young woman opened her doors to us to use as our backstage. The models’ mother and grandmother surprised us with a traditional home-cooked meal. There are moments in life when everything goes on unhindered. …When you’re in the right place at the right time!
